"Jeremy Ervin came to our house on a Saturday evening for 2 hours to show us different carpet samples.  He did all the measurements and provided a quote, all in the comfort and convenience of our home.  The price was very competitive with other places we shopped."
Carpet Cleaning

  • Xtreme Clean Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning, 505-796-0505, recommended by Cliff and Sylvia Ho. "Extreme Clean was very professional and friendly.  The cost for steam cleaning three rooms and a hallway (up to 750 ft2) was $99 (coupons in the yellow pages).  The two young men that came to our house, Paul and Patrick, were very nice and agreed to do a spot check on some very worn and soiled sections of a carpet that was almost 20 years old.  We were trying to decide whether to steam clean the carpet or replace it.  After the spot test, they were very honest and said that they couldn't get it perfectly clean, recommending that we replace the carpet instead. They did not charge us for their time, and I was very appreciative of their honesty and willingness to do a spot test before cleaning the entire house."
Concrete Work

  • Sol O Alire Construction, Mr. Humberto Alire, 505-804-4458, recommended by Ray Nagle for concrete and wall work. They also do a wide range of work including new construction, repairs, remodeling, and landscaping.
Doors
  • Pella Windows & Doors, 505-345-3501, recommended by Ray Nagle, "We had Pella replace all of our windows and patio door. Their product is very good, and expensive. The crew they sent out to install was excellent - conscience, timely, and considerate."

"Paul recently replaced a side door and frame that had been damaged during an attempted break-in. The total job, including repairs to both the inside and outside adjacent wall was done impeccably. Paul is very easy to communicate with and understands details like replacing burglar alarm sensors and brass hardware.  He shows the kind of oldworld skill and attention to detail that I thought I would never see again."
Home Design

  • Too Tall Landscaping (John Sullivan, 505-261-8830), recommended by Bob Woods, 505-299-6928, "Too Tall Landscaping" (505-261-8830) John Sullivan has done a very clever job of root removal, replacing borders, and installing gravel for us.  I highly recommend him."
Painting
  • DC Painting (Donnie Cole) 505-980-8882, recommended by Lenny and Claudia Goodell. He has painted for us many times and we are always satisfied with his work.
  • Andy's Painting, 505-934-0660, recommended by Ray Nagle. We used Andy's Painting to paint our whole house inside, and they did a very professional job. They were neat, considerate, and did a great job. I thought there price was reasonable.
  • High Desert Painting Co., 505-720-4108, recommended by Robert Woods (505-299-6928). High Desert Painting did an outstanding job for us. They stripped, stained and varnished stair banisters and then painted a wall for us. We very highly recommend them, not only for their craftsmanship but also for their cooperation.
  • Lowe Maintenance (Peggy Lowe), 505-888-3155, 505-620-3624 (cell), recommended by Cliff and Sylvia Ho, Peggy did an excellent job painting many of the rooms in our house (she only does interior work).  Her rates were very reasonable, and she was very timely, clean, friendly, and professional.
  • Builder's Choice Painting, 505-898-9180, recommended by Alex Robinson. They painted the east wall along Academy and east side of Antelope Run entrance in spring 2012.
Pest/Wildlife Control
  • Daniels Wildlife Pest Services (Daniel Lee, 505-328-9606), recommended by Annette Seiben. Great work at a much better price than competitors. Takes care of the issue without scare tactics or unnecessary ongoing service contracts. Takes care of rats, mice, gophers, squirrels, skunks, racoons, pigeons, snakes, bats.
Plumbing
  • TLC Plumbing and Utility, 505-761-9873, recommended by Ray Nagle. "We had a water line leak in the front yard and used TLC to repair it. They came out the next day, found the leak quickly, and fixed it. Plumbers are always expensive until you realize how long it would have taken you to do the repair yourself."

Remodeling and Additions
  • KASE Construction, 505-243-1973, recommended by Gary Gunter (293-6533), We just had our master and guest baths remodeled in the past 6 weeks.  I belong to Angie's List and went looking there for a good company.  I chose KASE Const owned and operated by Kevin Roady.  His wife, Erin, runs the office.  When I told him I was looking for a budget job, he volunteered to let me purchase all materials and he would just bid the labor.  As he said, when a contractor provides the material, they are going to add a little profit on the materials, too.  Anyway, KASE did the job, was on the job every day for 3 weeks and finished 3 days ahead of the deadline we agreed to (I had Balloon Fiesta guests coming).  It was a completely delightful experience and I plan to use them again next year.  He's built a couple of new houses, but in these times is just doing remodel and additions.  I would have no problem with anyone in ARNA calling me to talk about KASE.

Roof Repair
  • Alvarado Roofing, 505-842-7663, recommended by John Noyes. "They were professional, quick, and much cheaper than the competition.  We had 3 estimates and they were considerably lower." Also recommended by Ernie Aragon (see Ernie's comments below under Timberline Roofing).

  •  Reece Roofing Co., 505-344-3955, [email protected], recommended by Debbie Silverman, "I can enthusiastically recommend Mr. Kevin Reece (Reece Roofing).  I have had unsatisfactory experience with several others (including Spanish Roof Tile), but Mr. Reece has been a godsend.  He shows up on time, fixes the problem, his prices are reasonable, and he is a gentleman.  He's also done work for 2 other neighbors on my street and they too were 100% satisfied.  You might try the office # first, leave a message, and he will call you back.  He gets pretty busy after a heavy rain, but will make an appointment usually within 2 weeks.  Feel free to use my name as reference."
  • Spanish Roof Tile Co., 505-269-1921, recommended by Lisa Peterson, Mindy Zuo, and Robert Woods.  Lisa writes, "We had our roof done by Spanish Roof Tile Co. several years ago.  They are familiar with the history of our roofs here in our subdivision and they have the matching tile, at least when they did our roof.  We were satisfied with their work.  If you have any specific questions you can call me (505-275-0627). Mindy writes, "We used "Spanish Roof Tile Company to replace the whole roof with reasonable price, quality of work and good post services.  After a few years, a couple of tiles loosened up last year, and I called, and they came and fixed the problem with no questions asked.  The owner, Dell is a very nice guy." Robert writes, "We have had extremely good experiences with Spanish Roof Tile on several occasions.  The workmen are knowledgeable and courteous and the proprietor (Del) is easy to work with." 
  • Timberline Roofing, Inc., 292-7825, recommended by Mike and Sam Creedon (505-296-5437) and Mark Piccione.  Mike and Sam write, "In Aug. 2001 we had our entire roof redone by Timberline Roofing, Inc., owner Gary Duncan.  We have had no problems since and are happy to recommend Timberline Roofing."

Stucco Repair

Window Replacement
  • Glasshoppers (Sean), 505-872-1007, recommended by Brittany Rayburn, "Sean at Glasshoppers replaced 1/2 the windows in our house last year at a low cost."
  • Lowes (Greg Pritchard, 505-990-9338), recommended by Cliff and Sylvia Ho. "We had all of our windows replaced in December 2010 through Lowes.  We went with the Jeld-Wen windows and we have been extremely happy.  The cold drafts that we experienced from our previous windows were eliminated, and the sound (during strong winds) was greatly reduced.  The installers that Lowes used were very professional, efficient, and clean.  The cost of the windows and installation was considerably less than other brands we considered."

  • We Do Windows (Kareem Fakhoury, 505-459-3093, www.wedowindowsnm.com), recommended by Claudia Goodell. "The owner returned my call promptly, we had a nice conversation about what I needed, when I needed it, and about his process, (which is explained on his website).  I received a quote over the phone as well.  He called to confirm his appointment, and even called to say he could come earlier.  The owner, Kareem Fakhoury, who is a retired engineer, came with his wife and daughter to do the work.  They were very professional and friendly, completed the job in a timely fashion and to my expectations.  They were careful and clean in my home, and the final charges matched the initial quote.  I will definitely call them again for my window washing needs."  5 stars on Google Reviews.
